On Saturdaay, attackers found another fault in the Windows OS and managed to infect business from more than 150 countries. Microsoft immediately issued emergency patches for Windows XP, Windows 8, and Windows Server 2003 and encouraged individuals and businesses to update their systems in an attempt to stop the ransomware from spreading.

 

New Method used to Deliver Malware

Researched have found that cybercriminals have found a new way to deliver malware to the users device through a Powerpoint. It’s not uncommon for malicious actors to deliver malware using specially crafted Office files, particularly Word documents. However, this new method allows cybercriminals to have access to users computers just by hovering over the link.
